Celebrating 10 years of Chalantika
The 10th anniversary of the foundation of the Educational Centre Chalantika was celebrated on 22 November 2023. In the pleasant atmosphere of the AdAstra social café, we reminisced about the past years and the annual campaigns associated with them. There were refreshments, a good atmosphere and small tokens of appreciation for our donors.
The evening programme was guided by a friendly and creative host, Ema Klementová, who not only gave a clear structure to the whole narrative, but also created a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. The ten-year journey was narrated by Radomír Špinka, Director of ADRA Czech Republic, and Kamil Kreutziger, Foreign Projects Manager in Bangladesh. Their storytelling was rich with personal experiences and memories from the beginning of the centre to its current operation, including all the challenges and successes.
AdAstra is a social enterprise, which means that it employs people with certain disadvantages. The café currently employs a total of 36 people with disabilities, who work in the kitchen, behind the bar and as support staff. The friendly and knowledgeable staff made us feel really welcome and comfortable at this event. Thank you, AdAstra!

A beautiful conclusion was expressed through gratitude. We are very grateful to all our donors for their continuous support; without you, none of this would be possible.
Special thanks also go to our largest corporate donor, the MALFINI company, which for the past 5 years has been supporting the education and needs of not only the children of the centre, but also external students continuing their studies.

The rest of the evening was filled with discussion and conversation, accompanied of course by good food and drink. As a token of appreciation, small gifts were prepared for the donors, including the book "We, Children of the Slum".
