Photoreport: Chalantika Children excited to go for a trip!
Last Wednesday, 106 children from the slum education center Chalantika went on a trip to the DNCC Wonderland theme park. Since early morning there was a lot of enthusiasm in the air. For younger children, it was the first trip outside the slum in life. Plus, the kids just got brand new uniforms! The first attraction was already the bus ride itself. Children were cheering for their driver to race with other buses and even singing some songs.
It is not easy to manage 106 children, but the older students helped teachers a lot. Everyone was in charge of one class of younger children. All the groups obtained tickets to the attractions, and we were ready to start! Swinging on a pirate ship, riding a little train, or seeing Dhaka from above. The children were thrilled with everything. Then we played other games such as badminton, skipping rope, or football.
Around 1 o´clock we set off for lunch at the City Garden restaurant. The children were a little bit surprised about it, they haven´t in a restaurant many times before. Today's menu traditionally includes rice, eggs but also chicken. With a full stomach, we went back to the mothers to share the experiences.
Parents of slum children work hard to make ends meet. There is no money left for trips. That's why we are grateful for this day, which brought a lot of joy to the children. "

We are goods at taking selfies. As well as at badminton, football and voleyball. Children here doesn´t have lack of talent.
